APPG Boxing meeting on Wednesday 27th March 2019 focusing on boxing and promoting well-being and positive mental health

The next meeting of the APPG Boxing will take place on Wednesday 27th March 2019 between 10.30am - 12.30pm in Room C, 1 Parliament Street, focusing on mental health and boxing, exploring (1) the links between boxing and mental health and well-being, including whether boxing can / should be seen as an effective way of improving mental health, (2) examples of how boxing programmes can be used to improve mental health in the community and measuring the effectiveness of boxing compared to other sports, and (3) how boxing can help to support wider health and social policy objectives across Government.

We are delighted to have Jackie Doyle-Price MP (Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Mental Health, Inequalities and Suicide Prevention), Dr Rosena Allin-Khan MP (Shadow Minister (Digital, Culture, Media and Sport) (Sport), and boxing twin brothers Jamie McDonnell (former English, British,Commonwealth European, IBF world champion and WBA world Bantamweight Champion) and Gavin McDonnell of TeamMac #FightForGood CIC as our panel speakers.
